SOUTH ISLAND ITINERARY 11 DAYS (Available 6-16, July and 28 Sep 8th Oct 2024)
DAY 1 : AUCKLAND → NATIONAL PARK
Depart at 8.00 am 28 Princes Street Auckland CBD, 1010. We travel south to the Waikato Region stopping to visit Lake Taupō, the
largest freshwater lake in Australasia. We visit the famous Huka Falls, with 220,000 Litres passing through the chasm every second.
(Lunch in Taupō). The journey continues to National Park, home to three active volcanic mountains; Mt. Ruapheu, Mt. Tongariro and
Mt. Ngāuruhoe. Overnight in National Park. A fun evening, our first dinner together as we get to know one another, your friendly Tour
Manager and team to discuss the awesome days ahead!

DAY 2 : NATIONAL PARK → WELLINGTON
Travel to Wellington and visit Mt Victoria where you’ll see Wellington from a 360 view. In the evening we have tenpin Bowling night.
Overnight Wellington.

DAY 3 : WELLINGTON → ABEL TASMAN
From Wellington cruise through the magnificent Marlborough Sounds to Picton. From Picton, we travel south through to Nelson, the
sunshine capital. We stop for lunch and then make our way to the edge of the Abel Tasman. Overnight in Mārahau.

DAY 4 : ABEL TASMAN
In the morning we explore Abel Tasman National Park, which is renowned for its golden beaches, sculptured granite cliffs, and world-
famous coast track. In the afternoon Kayak along the Golden Bays near Mārahau looking out for the local marine wildlife. BBQ dinner
and overnight stay in Mārahau.

DAY 5 : ABEL TASMAN → PUNAKAIKI
Head to Westport on the West Coast, through the Buller Gorge and visit the seal colonies. Then on to Punakaiki, which is famous for
its limestone cliffs and spectacular coastline. Visit the famous Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes before we check into the
accommodation right on the beach. We go for an evening walk before dinner along the beach for that awesome West Coast sunset
photoshoot. Overnight Punakaiki.

DAY 6 : PUNAKAIKI → HOKITIKA → FRANZ JOSEF
Travel through snow-capped mountains and fantastic lakes on your journey toward Hokitika, famous for its Greenstone Factories. In
Hokitika, we see live Kiwis in the Kiwi House. Arrive early evening at Franz Josef Glacier, a frozen glacial “River” formed thousands of
years ago, in time to take an optional flight to the top of the glacier (weather permitting). Overnight Franz Josef. In the evening we
will take a forest walk to see glowworms.

DAY 7 : FRANZ JOSEF → WĀNAKA → QUEENSTOWN
Depart Franz Josef and travel alongside the breathtaking West Coast beaches, stopping to visit pools, waterfalls, and the rainforest
of Haast Pass. Arriving in Wānaka in the afternoon in time to enjoy Puzzling World. Then travel to Queenstown to stay overnight.

DAY 8 : QUEENSTOWN
We travel through stunning scenery along Milford Road into Fiordland National Park, where your cruise boat awaits you. You will
explore the most famous Fiord; Piopiotahi / Milford Sound, travelling deep into the untouched wilderness. Milford Sound is home to
expansive mountain ranges, thousand-year-old waterfalls and a large range of wildlife, such as bottlenose dolphins and native New
Zealand birds. Cruise out to the Tasman Sea and get up close and personal with landmarks like Mitre Peak. Overnight Queenstown.

DAY 9 : QUEENSTOWN
QUEENSTOWN FREE DAY Test your limits in the adrenaline capital of the world with these optional activities: Bungy Jump, Skydiving,
Gondola and Luge. Enjoy the Queenstown waterfront, gift shopping and alpine scenery. We will have dinner at Famous Ferg Burger.
In the Evening Ice bar dance party and mocktail. Overnight Queenstown.

DAY 10 : QUEENSTOWN → LAKE TEKAPO
In the morning we will enjoy a Jet boat ride over the Kawarau and Shotover Rivers. We speed over water as shallow as 10cm,
experiencing 360-degree spins on these two mighty rivers. Stop to feed the Salmon just south of Twizel then carry on to Lake Pūkaki,
one of the most scenic lakes in the area, from here you can see NZ’s highest mountain Aoraki (Mount Cook) on a clear day. Visit the
famous Church of the Good Shepherd. In the evening we go to Tekapo Springs to enjoy the thermal pools. Overnight at Lake Tekapo.

DAY 11 : LAKE TEKAPO → CHRISTCHURCH
We head to Ōtautahi Christchurch; South Island’s largest city, vibrant and ever-changing after the 2010 earthquake. Take a tour of
the city, exploring modern architecture and heritage buildings. We drop you off at Christchurch Airport at 4pm where we say farewell to our
new friends and awesome memories. Includes: Breakfast / Christchurch City Tour
